Colorado Triple Homicide, Family Friend Arrested

<P>On Sunday night in Canon City, Colorado, a mother and her two young children were murdered in their home. The suspect is a 31-year old friend of the family, and thought to be the mother’s boyfriend.</P><P>The suspect, Jaacob Harding Vanwinkle, has been arrested and is being held for the deaths of a Cañon City woman and her two children.</P><P>The suspect is described as a family friend of the victims, said Sgt. <a href="http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_25312150/suspect-held-triple-slaying-ca-ntilde-city-victims" target="_blank">Shannon Byerly</A>, a Cañon City Police Department spokesman.</P><P>Police have not identified the 35-year-old mother and her children, a 5-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl. However, another daughter escaped murder, but was allegedly sexually assaulted by Vanwinkle, Byerly said. </P><P>The teenage daughter got away from the suspect, fleeing the home Sunday evening making it to a neighbor’s house that then called the police to the scene.</P><P>The suspect was taken into custody without incident at the home where the bodies were found, Byerly said.</P><P>Vanwinkle has been arrested on suspicion of three counts of first-degree murder, three counts of kidnapping, sexual assault, and sexual assault on a child by a person in position of trust, he was informed of the charges after his arrest, police said. </P><P>The teenager was taken to a local hospital, treated and released.</P><P>The victims will undergo an autopsy this Tuesday.</P><P>The local school staff brought grief counselors to area schools for friends and teachers of the children, police said.</P><P>The <a href="http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_25312150/suspect-held-triple-slaying-ca-ntilde-city-victims" target="_blank">Denver Post</A> reported that Vanwinkle was sentenced in 2004 to four years in prison in Indiana for child molestation and vicarious sexual gratification. George Lopez Passes Out On Casino Floor; Arrested For Public Intoxication

<P>George Lopez might have <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/01/george-lopez-arrested-casino_n_4880233.html" target="_blank">enjoyed himself a little too much</A> at a Canadian casino on Thursday. The Mexican-American comedian and actor reportedly passed out on the floor of the Caesars Windsor Hotel and Casino and was subsequently arrested for public intoxication, according to TMZ.</P><P>The celebrity news site also reported that in-house casino security called the local police shortly before midnight when they spotted Lopez lying on the floor of the casino bar. No charges are being filed against the 52-year-old talk show host, although he stayed in police custody until he sobered up. Caesars Windsor spokesperson Jhoan Baluyot said that the Lopez Tonight</EM> star has another scheduled show on Friday, February 28, which will continue as planned.</P><P>The comedian released a statement to PEOPLE, which included <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2014/03/01/george-lopez-reportedly-passed-out-drunk-at-canadian-casino/" target="_blank">a humorous jab</A> at the intoxication incident. Lopez said that he was “not feeling great this morning” and he “was trying to sleep it off”; however, he fell asleep on the casino floor.  He also joked about doing what he did in Ontario “what Bieber does to America” during his Friday show.</P><P>A <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20792029,00.html" target="_blank">Twitter photo allegedly taken by onlooker</A> Chad Maury showed Lopez lying on his left side with his stomach partially exposed. The photo went viral almost as soon as it surfaced.</P><P>George Lopez was “discovered” by acclaimed film actress Sandra Bullock, who served as executive producer of his own self-titled television sitcom. George Lopez ran from 2002 to 2007 and in 2009, Lopez ventured into talk show hosting with Lopez Tonight. He suffered kidney problems, which required him to get a kidney transplant in 2005. His then-wife Ann served as his kidney donor. Emma Coronel: Former Beauty Queen Arrested With “El Chapo”

<P>Joaquin Guzman, also known as <STRONG>“El Chapo,”</STRONG> was finally arrested on Saturday in Mazatlan, Mexico. The head of <STRONG>Sinaloa Cartel drug syndicate</STRONG> was captured in a condominium while he was cooking breakfast. Along with him was his wife of six years, former beauty queen <STRONG>Emma Coronel</STRONG>.</P><P>The <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2566474/Cartel-boss-El-Chapo-cooking-breakfast-beauty-queen-wife-Mexican-officials-smashed-door-secret-hideout-betrayed.html">most wanted</A> drug lord in the world, as El Chapo is called, escaped from his Culiacan hideout through tunnels that led to Mazatlan just about a week ago.</P><P>Coronel met El Chapo at a beauty pageant back in 2007 when she was just 17 years old. El Chapo was immediately enamored by the young woman’s beauty that he used his influence in order for Coronel to <a href="http://www.ibtimes.co.in/articles/540285/20140224/joaquin-el-chapo-guzman-wife-emma-coronel.htm">win the competition</A>. The two eventually married on Coronel’s 18th birthday. El Chapo was 47 years old.</P><P>According to sources, El Chapo was not the only connection Coronel had with the Sinaloa Cartel. She is reported to be the <a href="http://www.latintimes.com/who-emma-coronel-5-things-know-about-el-chapo-guzmans-beauty-queen-wife-154847">daughter</A> of Ignacio Coronel, also known as Nacho, who was one of El Chapo’s right hand men.</P><P>The arrest was carried out just after sunrise. Law enforcement personnel enclosed the 10-story condominium building. They smashed El Chapo’s door open and quickly seized the drug lord. Though there was an assault rifle right by his side, El Chapo did not attempt to reach for it. According to retired senior <STRONG>DEA</STRONG> Mike Vigil, El Chapo did not resist the arrest and seemed tired from the stress of running away from authorities.</P><P>El Chapo was taken to a maximum-security prison in Almoloya de Juarez by helicopter. The next steps after the arrest are still unclear. El Chapo will be facing a barrage of charges in <STRONG>Mexico</STRONG> with his involvement in selling methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin, and cocaine to over 50 countries.
